2 min read

In this video I’m going to tell you how I overcame wrist tendonitis from drumming, without having to get surgery.

***WARNING: I AM NOT A CERTIFIED MEDICAL DOCTOR. ANY ACTION YOU TAKE, INTERPRET OR MISINTERPRET FROM THE VIDEO IS AT YOUR OWN RISK***

This is just a video recount of what happened to me and what worked for me. Results may vary and are not guaranteed.

If you don’t want to hear my full story, you can just skip ahead to the summary at the end, at 36:53

Here also is a written summary of the solutions I present in the video:
Causes of Tendonitis: Overpracticing, Overplaying, Overuse, Overextension, Unnecessary Tension and Bad Technique.

Fixing Tendonitis:
Phase 1: Let it Rest. Ice. Alexander Technique. Trigger Point Therapy. Daily Routines/Habits.
(Avoid: Strength training or irritating injury when still recovering)
Phase 2: Gently ease back into it to avoid reinjury. Strength train when fully healed. Relaxed Technique. Alexander Technique.

What doesn’t heal tendonitis: Ibuprofen

How to Prevent Tendonitis: Stretch, Good Relaxed and Efficient Technique, Alexander Technique, Healthy Daily Routines/Habits, Trigger Point Therapy, Icing, Relaxed Technique, Rest Days and Listening to Your Body when it needs rest.
