History & identity
The Kiwanis Kavaliers were established in the fall of 1971 by Jack Turner. Their alumni archive contains yearly records beginning in 1972 and continuing through 2005, with repertoire, staff, and personnel information where available.
The corps’ history included a 1987 merger with St. Andrew’s of Cambridge and a 2002 relationship with Tampa Bay Thunder. A 2001 European tour represented DCI in several countries and widened the organization’s international experience.
What makes this corps distinctive
The Kavaliers illustrate the cross-border character behind the International in DCI. The Canadian identity remained important even as partnerships and administrative connections extended into Florida. Their alumni-maintained records are particularly useful for tracing individual seasons without relying on recollection alone.
