Utilizing Technology for More Effective Practice (How to Practice Snare Drum)

Many of us are aware of the most common uses of technology in percussion playing, but there is so much more available to us other than using a metronome on our phones. In this video, I discuss the benefits of using a Digital Audio Workstation to record myself as I practice. I’ll also question some of the most basic elements of our daily practice regimens, and offer sensible solutions such as the use of the PolyNome app in combination with a DAW of your choice. I also touch on the concept of creating click tracks using music notation software, and cap it all off with the benefits of playing along to music.
