October 28, 2021 is the 10th Year Anniversary of the Original Jig 2 Video that was the first to become viral and really started the Worldwide Jig 2 Phenomenon. In celebration we are working to produce a video on the history of Jig 2 and are excited to tell everyone about an annual contest we are planning to recognize the best 2021 and future Jig 2 performances. The video you are watching now comes from some recently found archival footage I had and was the elusive third angle captured that night on 10-28-2011….It shows more of the student reactions and just how much fun this is for them. Even included a bonus stand tune!
The Oak Mountain High School Band is located in rural Shelby County, Alabama, USA and is totally funded by the generosity of boosters and through fund raising. The program gets no funding from the Shelby County School System and has to be self-sufficient, unlike other programs in our area that are funded via a tax base or other means. The Directors are working to create fundraising opportunities like merchandise or through donations. I will use this channel to support and promote this for the band.
