Drum Majors lead the combined Pipe Bands over river Dee marching to 2022 Ballater Highland Games

Honorary leading Drum Major Ian Esson leading the Drum Majors and eight combined Pipe Bands over the river Dee bridge into Ballater, making their way to the 2022 Ballater Highland Games in Deeside, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The bands were playing “Farewell to the Creeks” as they marched.

The Drum Majors are Derek Dean, Robb Cumming, Rob Brownfield, Bert Summers, Ronnie Rennie, Bill Barclay, Fraser Dyer and Fiona Glennie. The bands taking part included Ballater & District Pipe Band, Granite City Pipes & Drums, Aberlour & Community Pipe Band, Kintore Pipe Band, Towie Pipe Band, Ellon & District RBL Pipe Band, Lathallan School Pipe Band and members of Dalhousie Pipe Band from Switzerland. Following them is the black Shetland pony, Cpl Cruachan IV, mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

Marching in from was the Ballater Games Vice-Chairman Scott Fraser wearing the uniform of the reformed Invercauld Highlanders, making their first public appearance in over eight decades.
