Nashville, TN · DRUMCORPS.NET PROFILE
Nashville, Tennessee • DCI World Class • First corps season 2009 • Music City Youth in the Arts
Origins and organizational development
The organization’s own retrospective dates operations to 2008 and the first performing corps to 2009, with 43 members. It describes later growth in instruments, transport, merchandise capacity, food and wellness support, and educational staff. Those operational changes are part of the history alongside competitive placement: an ensemble needs a support system that can grow with its performers. Organization origins and inaugural corps
Music City Youth in the Arts is the nonprofit parent organization. Its official site also describes local educational offerings, including Sunday Sessions and a Summer Academy, alongside the flagship touring corps. Music City Drum Corps should not be confused with the separate WGI ensemble Music City Mystique; similarly named programs have different auditions, fees, and governing organizations.
