It is a milestone for Mandera County as we celebrate the passing out parade for 46 of our enforcement band officers today from the Department of Devolved units and Enforcement Services.
Today’s event is a culmination of a long standing government to government partnership between Mandera County Government and National Youth Service geared towards building capacity of staff.
I continue to recommend National Youth Service as training destination that county governments can take advantage of for various skills among cadres of employees.
A couple of months ago, to be precise on 30th August 2021 we marked a colourful ceremony where we celebrated the passing out parade of 383 enforcement officers and village administrators. The graduands have reported to their work stations across the sub-counties and are serving people.
Continuous on job training is part of our strategy to equip staff with skills that will make fit the challenging work environment and demands for service delivery
Today’s graduands are 46 in total and include 38 gentlemen and 8 ladies who have honed their skills after training for 110 days under the guidance of skilled instructors and music director from National Youth Service.
The band members covered course work units among them
-Rudimentary theory of music
-Elementary level of music
-Musicianship
-Leadership skills
-Foot drills and Basic Instrumental Performance . The graduates will be issued with a certificate of merit for the courses they attended.
