  1. Excellent video and such clear great tips. I love the tips of recording yourself and practicing. I started doing that and i learned so much about my own tendencies….I also a have gone to a couple toastmasters and that has also really helped me analyze the way i communicate.

  2. So, this was a very good video. Numbers 2-5 are great.

    Number 1, however, is bad advice. Thoughts and feelings are not the same. Calling a thought a feeling misrepresents the information you are communicating.

    For a solution, do a Google (or insert your favorite web search here) search on “list of emotions” and practice using those words.

    Thoughts have objective veracity. They can be identified as true or false. Feelings have subjective veracity. They can only be identified by the person saying the words as true or false.

    For example, I feel that 2+2=4 is not right. It can be proven by others. Or, I think I am sad is not right. Only you would know – it is a feeling. Hope that helps!

  4. I had a gf a very long time ago who was something of a social butterfly (she was reclusive in her free time, but very outgoing around people). One of the things she said is that most people love talking about themselves. She had a way of asking questions and then actually listening and showing emotional interest that made her a magnet to everyone. "I feel like… " was another thing I picked up from her in the short time we were together. Two simple lessons made so much of a difference.

  5. The bit about not postponing emotions is so me. So many times have i felt like a good cry but told myself i would revisit it later, but when i did get back to it i didnt feel like crying anymore. I dont think it was good because i never was able to release those emotions
